Knowle Farm is set in rural countryside on the outskirts of Rattery, which is approximately ten minutes west of the historic market town of Totnes on the River Dart.

We are just three hours from London and the Midlands, being a short and easy drive from the A38 link road between Exeter and Plymouth.

A marvellous array of wonderful countryside surrounds us including the majestic Dartmoor National Park, which is on our doorstep. Within 30 minutes are superb sandy beaches with spectacular coastline. The South Hams is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Dartmoor National Park

As we are centrally located to the whole of the South Devon area we offer an ideal base for those looking to explore the enormous variety of countryside and places of interest that can be found throughout the region.

We've created a map which shows some of the great things you can see and do around us, just click on each coloured marker to see what's there:

Key to markers:
Blue = General attraction,  Green = GTBS member,  Yellow = Nearest bus stop,  Purple = Supplier of local/organic/veggie products,

Within the village of Rattery itself and a pleasant walk from the farm, via either the footpath or the country lanes, is one of the oldest pubs in England. The 'Church House Inn' dates back to 1028 and offers an excellent menu for eating out, lunchtime or evening (they are child friendly and there is a lovely garden area for fine days). A never-ending choice of other high quality pubs and restaurants are within a short driving distance, and we provide a list of our favourites to all our guests.

The area offers a wide range of things to do for all ages with steam trains, boat trips, local fishing, riding, golf courses, superb walking country and numerous fun places to go with the children. Pennywell Farm and Wildlife Centre, repeatedly voted the West Country's Best Attraction, is under two miles away and a whole host of other top class attractions are within easy reach of Knowle Farm.

The Eden Project can be easily reached from South Devon and the location of Knowle Farm is ideal for access to the main link road into Cornwall the A38 (we are less than 25 minutes from Cornwall). We also recommend The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the China Clay Mine, all nearby close to St. Austell.

You will not be bored even if you return year after year. Many of our guests already do and they still find new places to visit and explore.
